Pup joints are made of the same material as drill collars, heat treated to a hardness of 285-341 BHN with an impact value of 40 ft.-lbs. at room temperature one inch below the surface. Minimum strength of integral drill pipe pups is 827 Mpa. and all connections are phosphate-coated to improve resistance. Pup joints are available in: 5 '', 10'', 15'', and 20'' lengths and can be ordered to match standard drill pipe dimensions. Rotary Subs are made of 4145 H quenched and tempered material to API SPEC 7. Rotary subs are available with box x pin, box x box or pin x pin connections. The connections are protected by a phosphate surface coating that minimizes galling. Lift subs & Lift plugs are made of AISI 4145H alloy steel and according to API and SY/T standard. |
