Drill Collar

Drill collar is a length of extra heavy wall drill rod or pipe connected to a drill string directly above the core barrel or bit, the weight of which is used to impose the major part of the load required to make the bit cut properly.

MMC drill collars are made of AISI 4145H chromium molybdenum alloy steel. The drill collar bars are all full-length heat treated and water quenched which have mechanical properties meet or exceed API Specification 7 requirements.
